• The earlier 3D model

  The earlier version of Sturnia used birds derived from "flying animated bird" by sarvjeet, licensed CC BY 4.0. It was retextured in Blender for Sturnia; the original rig and flight animation are theirs.

• One starling, every flock

  The starling is original AI-generated artwork created for Sturnia. The same bird appears throughout one continuous flight, from the individual to the community, murmuration, and collective mind. Its wings and flight are animated in the browser.

• The collective mind

  An original AI-generated android portrait supplies the flock’s final flight destinations. The portrait itself is never displayed: thousands of the same birds form the face.

• The typefaces

  Fraunces and Inter, both under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
